Welcome to our site. What you will find here is
information to help you research what it is you need to know
and consider when shopping for used screen printing
equipment.
Buying used screen printing equipment is a great way to
help you save money when you are first getting into screen
printing or looking to upgrade your current press, dryer,
exposure unit or whatever other piece of equipment you are
searching for.
A couple of things to think about when preparing to purchase
used screen printing equipment. First, like anything that
you buy used, it will more than likely not be under warrantee
anymore. You need to take this into consideration
because, if something should go wrong with your equipment, you
may end up spending a lot of money having it repaired.
The second thing to think about is that a lot of people selling
used screen printing equipment will only offer it for pick-up
or local delivery. Most of the time, a press is a pretty
heavy piece of equipment and your average person may not have
the resources to ship it too you.
When you are shopping around for your new equipment it is
important to take your needs into consideration. If this
is your first printing press, then you will need to determine
how much space you have available, what your budget is, and how
often you will need to use it. Some questions to ask
yourself to determine this could include:
- Where will I be setting my press up at? Will you
be using your press in your garage? In a
spare room in your house? Or do you have an area
or building that can be dedicated to housing your
equipment? The less space you have available to set
up and run your press, the smaller dimensions you will need
the press to be. Don't worry, there are plenty of
small scale presses that have decent printing and output
capabilities.
- What kind of output will you need to do? Will you
be printing more that 500 shirts a day? How many
pieces do you plan on printing per day, week, or
month? If you plan on doing a really large amount of
printing, you will definitely need a larger machine.
Most small machines can print up to around 60-100 shirts
per hour.
- What is your budget? You definitely need to try
to get the best possible equipment for you money, but don't
go overboard. If you are only planning on printing
200-300 pieces a day, you don't need anything too large or
expensive. However, I do recommend picking up a with
four to six color press, as you will eventually want one
with these capabilities (probably sooner than later).
Remember, whatever your current budget or situation, it is
important to research and try to find the best possible deal
when looking to buy used screen printing equipment.
